The Farms

The Mas Parés farms cover an area of 35 hectares of porous and sandy land where rainwater never becomes stagnant. This entire extension of land, surrounded by woods and embraced by the River Ter, is the ideal habitat for the breeding of moulard ducks. The ducklings arrive at the installations when they are two days old and grow using the natural defences given to them by the mother.

The farms, in their depopulated state, also meet all of the requirements for maximum hygiene and disinfection, all of the elements for the bird to adapt to the habitat under the best conditions, thus avoiding the supply of stress reducers and antibiotics. During their younger years, the ducks receive cereal-based energy food. After the first 14-15 days of their lives, the animals can go outdoors and live in semi-freedom. The large area of the Mas Pares farms allows the ducks to move around in wide spaces. Outdoors they moult and reach the optimum age to assume the overfeeding of maize in order to make excellent livers and meats. The health and balanced weight of the ducks whilst they are growing are subject to strict controls.
